The 10th Annual Chowder and Cheer takes place this Saturday, December 7th, from 1pm until 5pm. Guests are asked to vote for their favorite chowder, soup, chili or gumbo as they travel to each participating restaurant or business. In addition to the downtown restaurants competing in Chowder and Cheer, restaurants that aren’t located within the downtown district will serve samples at participating shops and art galleries. Chowder & Cheer is organized by Downtown Morehead City Inc. as part of the annual Christmas in Downtown celebration!
THIS YEAR the Big Rock Store will be hosting Caribsea, of Emerald Isle, and be giving out a special Big Rock “CHEER” souvenir! PLUS + enjoy exclusive holiday giveaways & a DEAL you won’t want to miss!

The Christmas in Downtown celebration begins with Breakfast with Santa, then Chowder & Cheer, followed by The Morehead City/Beaufort Flotilla at 5:30 p.m. along the Morehead City waterfront, and finally the Community Tree Lighting beginning at 6 p.m., in Jaycee Park.
