The Big Rock Tournament is excited to welcome back Steve Goione as the 59th Annual Tournament artist. The 2017 exclusive illustration, named Peek-a-Blue, captures a watercolor marlin jumping out of the ocean featuring dolphin & a wahoo.  Steve Goione is known for his simple, yet beautiful pen and inks that evolve into a wonderful blend of mediums including watercolors, always augmented by his use of stippling with pen & ink to bring out the subtleties of shape and shading. Steve's ability allows him to portray sportfishing boats, gamefish and a variety of other shoreline scenes with complete accuracy, while also capturing the "intangibles" that convert simple illustration into fine art. You can purchase a 59th Annual Big Rock t-shirt featuring Peek-a-Blue online [1] or in-store! Learn more about Steve Goione [2]  The Big Rock Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament recently announced local, Brian Flanagan, of Cape Carteret as the 2017 artist. Brian learned how to draw, paint, and build things with wood from his older brothers and sisters. His intricate designs are first hand-drawn and cut to make a stencil and then painted on to reclaimed wood using vibrant colors. These unique paintings are inspired by his love for the coast of North Carolina. The 20th Annual design features a dark marlin outline filled with bright colors on a wood framework. The reclaimed wood material brings a new & unique quality to the original painting.   We are excited to be working with two very talented artists this year & look forward to showcasing their originals during tournament week (June 9-17th)!
