The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament proudly stood with the Beaufort Boys and Girls Club yesterday as they accepted the bus donated by Big Rock. The funds for the bus were provided by proceeds from the 2015 tournament.

“We are very pleased to be able to donate the bus to the club”, commented Tom Bennett, Charity Chairman. “The success of this year’s tournament allowed us to provide many opportunities for organizations throughout the county”, he continued. Crystal Hesmer, Tournament Director and Chris McCutcheon of Diamond Sponsor, Wells Fargo were also present for the announcement.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolina are committed to serving local individuals and have an objective of reaching full capacity of service to each of the facilities. The new bus will aid in reaching students outside of their “walking distance” perimeter. In addition, the bus will service the summer camp months where field trips are a major component of the summer program schedule.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolina is a nationally chartered, youth serving organization with Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Their mission is “To inspire and enable all young people, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens”.
