When Saturday fishing hours were used up, the 55th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament headed to overtime since three boats were still hooked up.

Reel Dreams, Blue Magic and Crack of Dawn were hooked up prior to the end of fishing at 2 p.m. Reel Dreams, captained by Shane Malone, Greenville, Blue Magic, captained by John King, Charlotte, and Crack of Dawn, captained by Geoff Flynt, Beaufort, are all allowed to battle their billfish until a conclusion to the fight is reached.

Reel dreams released their blue marlin 30 minutes after time expired and Blue Magic released their blue marlin 30 minutes after that. Heading into the second hour of overtime, Crack of Dawn was still fighting its catch. Crack of Dawn originally hooked up at 12:13 p.m.
