  • Delta Dawn wins 20th annual KWLA

    Delta Dawn angler Connie Thompson released a blue marlin and a white marlin Saturday to help her team defeat a record field of 144 boats and capture the 20th annual Keli Wagner Lady Angler (KWLA) tournament.
    While Thompson’s two catches were key, an 8.9-pound dolphin landed by Delta Dawn angler Nina Foust proved to be the difference. Foust’s catch broke a tie with the lady anglers aboard Full Pull who released a blue marlin and a sailfish but did not weigh in a gamefish. That gave Delta Dawn the first place prize of $15,300.     After receiving valuable feedback from our participants and our technology experts, the Big Rock Tournament has decided to expand the type of camera used for verification of blue marlin. Any camera that stores media on an SD Card, Micro SD Card or Compact Flash Card may be used. This will open it up to GoPro, Garmin, Tactacam, Canon, Nikon, Sony and many other cameras. *Please note!   • Agreement to Dredge Hatteras Channel

    BIG NEWS!! We are excited to announce that the Hatteras Channel will begin dredge work as early as next week! Due to depth issues in the channel, some participants haven't been able to fish out of Hatteras. On April, 11, 2017, Dare County, the State of North Carolina, and the Army Corp of Engineers entered into an agreement to dredge the Hatteras channel. Read more »
