  • Competitors Sign Up for 53rd Annual Big Rock!

    Billfish competitors have already started signing up for the upcoming 53rd Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament held this year on June 10-18th, 2011. These registrants take their first step toward winning part of a cash purse that’s exceeded $1 million dollars each of the past fourteen years.     The new 53rd Annual Big Rock short sleeve shirts are now stocked at tournament headquarters and your local retailers. Custom Color brand shirts come in Sunburst, Mystic Blue, Celedon and the white will be a 6.1 oz Gildan. Youth are available in blue, white and pink. The new KWLA shirts come in Pink and White and feature art from two of the Wagner children.

  • Carnivore Entitled to First Place Prize

    On March 14, 2011, an Order was filed in Carteret County Superior Court dismissing a lawsuit brought by the owners of the vessel Citation challenging their disqualification from the 2010 Big Rock Tournament. In the Order dismissing the case, the Court declared that the vessel Citation had “violated Tournament Rules, and thus was properly disqualified” from the 2010 Tournament. The Order declared that the vessel Carnivore was entitled first place winnings for the Tournament, and that the vessel Wet-N-Wild was entitled to second place winnings. Read more »

  • Largest Donation in Big Rock History!

    The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament board of directors made their largest contribution to one organization last night for $200,000 to seed the new Crystal Coast Hospice House project. This announcement was made during the Crystal Coast Hospice House fund raiser held in Morehead City at Bistro-by-the-Sea.

    With overwhelming sponsor support, The Big Rock board has been able to donate more than 2 million dollars to worthy projects since 1988 with an average of $100,000 per year. Read more »
