With the 52nd Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament just around the corner, The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament board of directors have added a new dolphin-winner take all level to the mix for the tournament held June 11-19, 2010.
Minimum entry level for the tournament is $2500, add another $1500 for the gamefish and winner take all levels and you can get in one of the best fishing tournaments on the East Coast for a mere $4000. This small entry fee will place you in the Guaranteed Blue Marlin purse, Daily/Weekly Release for billfish, Daily/Weekly gamefish prizes, and the winner take all-dolphin for a cash prize estimated at over $75,000 for the Dolphin-WTA level alone!!
“This new level adds more excitement for the participants and encourages boats of all sizes to enter in this year’s tournament”, commented Tournament Director, Crystal Watters. “We have really stirred up the interest on this one and are hoping for record numbers this year”, she continued.
The Big Rock Tournament also added this level to their one-day ladies event, the Keli Wagner Big Rock Lady Angler Tournament (KWLA), held on Saturday June 12, 2010. Entry for the KWLA is $500 for Level I, and $500 for Level II -winner take all dolphin category. Half of each Level I entry fee in the ladies tournament is donated to the local RAAB Cancer Clinic in Morehead City.

**The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament is the largest non-profit of its kind on the east coast and will celebrate its 52nd year in 2010. Last year the tournament had 169 boats with a purse of $1,752,366. The tournament gave away $106,413 to charity in 2009 and has a cumulative donation of $2,041,163.00 to worthy organizations since 1988. The Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament one-day event has donated $130,012 to local charities in the last 12 years.
