50th EDITION PROGRAM HAS ARRIVED!!

The 50th Anniversary Edition of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament program was released today and is heralded as one of the best tournament publications on the East Coast. The commemorative edition features a full 78-page historical section along with the regular edition, making it the largest program to date.
The 50th Edition Program offers detailed information about the very beginning of the tournament along with each year’s highlights. The historical data had never been compiled prior to this program.
“The board of directors is very proud and excited to offer our community this valuable historical program,” commented Crystal Watters, Tournament Director. “From the first marlin in 1957 until now, the Big Rock has certainly made a huge impact on our town and the sport fishing industry.”
The program’s spectacular graphics and layout were created by Big Rock’s own Rowanne Robertson. Her attention to detail has created a wonderful 50th Anniversary publication. The program is available at the Big Rock office, local marina’s and retail outlets.

Upcoming Events:
May 15, 2008: Business After Hours on Morehead City Waterfront. Hosted
by the Big Rock and other Morehead City Waterfront businesses, this event will
further highlight our relationship to Morehead City and its famous waterfront.
May 31, 2008: NC Maritime Museum Sportfishing Exhibit. The NC Maritime Museum in Beaufort
will highlight the sportfishing industry and its history in Carteret County in
an exhibit set to open May 31, 2008. The Big Rock will
provide historical items, pictures, etc. for a display in the museum’s main
hall. This exhibit will run from 2-4 months.
May, 2008: The History Place Big Rock Exhibit. Big Rock’s perpetual
trophy is displayed here and the exhibit will be enlarged to include the 50th
Anniversary.
June 11-12, 2008: Carteret Arts Council Art Show. Work has begun with the
Carteret Arts Council to showcase marine artwork on Wednesday and Thursday during the tournament week.
